Lebanon's Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of two Lebanese nationals at the Dahr al-Baidar checkpoint on suspicion of involvement in a kidnapping in the Maamaltein area, after initial reports spoke of a kidnapping and the arrest of a person at the checkpoint. The General Directorate said the detainees carried out the kidnapping with others on commission from a person over financial disputes, and that weapons and gold were seized.
Al-Jadeed and Lebanon ON limited themselves to brief news elements about the kidnapping and the arrest, while the Tayyar.org website carried the Internal Security Forces' statement with its details on the detainees' identities, their alleged role, and the seizure of weapons and gold.
