The Akkar region witnessed security tension after two people assaulted a van driver transporting students at the Wadi al-Jamous junction over a sign bearing the name "Akkar – Qammoua", amid an existing land dispute. The incident escalated into bursts of gunfire and an RPG round fired into the air at the border between Old Akkar and Fneideq and a dispute inside Abdullah al-Rassi Hospital, before the Lebanese Army deployed and imposed a security cordon.
