Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced a new gas discovery at the exploratory well Nimas-1X in the Mediterranean, with preliminary reserves estimated at about 200 billion cubic feet and a net gas-bearing interval of roughly 15 metres. The discovery lies within the Tiba concession operated by Italy's Eni in partnership with Australia's Woodside, and a study is under way to tie the well to existing production facilities via a 22-kilometre pipeline.
