A property dispute in the Lebanese town of Kfardebian over plot No. 5298, owned by the Syriac Catholic Patriarchate and about 180,000 square metres in size, in which Patriarchate sources accused the Kfardebian municipality headed by Jean el-Akiki of organized pressure to halt its investment. The sources link the dispute to a disagreement over the rent of an adjacent property invested by Nassif Saqr, the municipality head's business partner, while the investor says he obtained urban planning approvals.
