The case dates back to a raid by a Central Criminal Investigations patrol on a medicine warehouse in the Zaghoul building in the Galerie Sam'an area of the southern suburbs, to seize prohibited medicines that had entered Lebanon under an exceptional decision by the Health Minister. During the execution of the judicial commission, gunmen surrounded the patrol, before the Lebanese Army intervened, provided support, completed the seizure of the medicines and sealed the warehouse with red wax, while Prosecutor General of Cassation Judge Ahmad Rami al-Hajj issued summonses to the security agencies to identify those who obstructed the operation.
